on Tuesday, Twitter announced It will elaborate on trends through pinned tweets and descriptions on trending topics.
Providing context around trends occurs through a combination of algorithms and human review. Algorithms remove tweets that are abusive, not spam, or posted through fraudulent accounts. A representative’s tweet is then shown in the trend, showing why users are talking about the topic. This feature has already been implemented on Twitter for iOS and Android and the company plans to bring it to Twitter.com as well.
Details have not yet been rolled out, but they will be written by Twitter’s curation team, which will follow some The guidelines.
